A modern day Pantomime based on the story of Dick Whittington.

A young American teacher comes to work in a London school. While at the school, he meets a young woman who is also working there and soon falls in love with her. The young woman is actually a Royal Princess working incognito which Dick knows nothing about. Then comes the villain, Mr. Rats, who has his own plans of running the school. The Dame is responsible for hiring Mr. Rats, but soon discovers his evil plans. Puss (the cat) has a crucial role and saves the day. Then, the Dame reveals her true identity as the Fairy Godmother.

London 1885-86

Richard Hamilton, the adopted son of Sir Joshua Hamilton, a prominent surgeon at the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, having been swindled out of his inheritance by his “uncle”, Sir Joshua’s despot of a brother, leaves England and goes to America with a small sum of money as per the agreement between Sir Joshua and his brother.

Richard returns to The East End a year later and settles in the premises of his dead father’s clinic working with destitute women and prostitutes.

He also works as an Artist, another skill he has acquired while in the States.

After a gruelling day Richard leaves the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, where he helps out part time, having accompanied and assisted his father, when he was alive, and becoming quite skilled as a surgeon.

Crossing the High Street with its carters, Hansom cabs and drunks making their way home, Richard is disturbed by a woman’s voice calling after him in a drunken slur as he makes his way into Wood’s Passage.

A journey of murder, battles in the privy of his room with his alter ego, culminates as he metamorphosizes into Jack the Ripper.
